Biggest tourism business in Africa
The Tourvest Group is the largest integrated tourism business in Africa and was founded in 1997 through the incorporation of a number of long-established tourism companies that was listed on the Johannesburg Securities Exchange. In late 2008 a consortium (that included private equity, government and an investment trust) acquired the company. Currently, Tourvest owns some 63 sector-leading brands, with over 4 000 employees globally and is the biggest of its sort in Africa.
Our integrated tourism model is unique to the industry as we access a large percent of touch-points in the travel chain. The group encompasses hotel ownership and management, adventure activities, inbound and outbound tour operations, foreign exchange bureau as well as a diverse portfolio of travel retail operations. As Africa’s largest integrated tourism group, Tourvest owns the industry’s leading brands and provides a range of products and services that encompass the full spectrum of tourist requirements.
Tourvest’s ability to trade on an international scale is clearly illustrated by our successful operations across the world – apart from South Africa, we have company-owned business establishments in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Seychelles, UK, Caribbean, Brazil, India and Spain.
Truly a company that has its roots in Africa, but extends its reach and impact across the world.
